In an incredible turn of events that sounds like a headline out of The Onion, The Berkeley, Californy City Council has ruled that medical MJ dispensaries must allocate at least 2% of their product to give to low-income patients (below $32,000/ year). According to this ruling, the dispensaries must not only provide this free weed, but must also make sure the MJ given to these patients is as high in quality as the stuff they sell for premium prices!

Well it is for patients, but then again its so easy to get a mmj card who knows
-
Not to put this idea down but maybe pharmacies should give away 2% of their medicine to poor folks too. It's only fair. Then Dentists should fix 2% of teeth free, and so on. How can a city make this ruling legally and what kind of precedent does it set for other businesses?
-
Only 2% of MMJ card holders actually use it as medicine.

well I guess my dream of being homeless in Berkeley Is coming true sooner than I thought.... :bear: I will be fine..i haz skillz :tyrone:

Agreed - more government gone wild crap. MJ never should have been outlawed in the first place, and now the gov folks think they can screw us yet some more by taxing it in new unique ways. Laws will only be respected by the people if they are applied uniformly to all without prejudice. Gov assholes! :hammertime:

it would be awesome to get free weed lol

I'd rather just buy my own weed than have to rely on weed handouts. :pimp
I'm not a big fan of credit either. If I can't afford to buy it outright, I don't want it. :offtopic:

Smart move by the Berkley city council. Now there will be stoner poor people flocking in from everywhere lol
Maybe it's a scheme to become one of the biggest welfare supported cities :stoned
I bet dispensary prices are going to go up in that area. That means the city council thinks they can raise taxes (indirectly) for higher-income medical MJ users without holding a voting poll. Don't they have to hold a poll before they pass other laws that raise taxes?
