Title: Reduction Question Reguarding Grain Alcohol Cannabis Tincture
Post by: Simonsays on February 26, 2019, 03:22:53 PM
I am in the process of making my first cannabis tincture. After reading the many ways to do this I'm using the cold method. Briefly, I decarbed 18 grams of purple crunk and placed it in the freezer. Tomorrow I will combine in a mason jar, the decarbed weed and 8 to 9 oz. of Everclear(151proof). I will leave it in the freezer for 3 days shaking it several times a day. I realize that many recipes say to continue this for weeks or months but from my research I have found that the majority of the cannaboids are extracted(85%) in the first few days.

My dropper bottles and cheese cloth will be here tomorrow. I want to reduce the alcohol content after straining to create a more potent tincture but want to know a safe and efficient way to do this. Can I use a crock pot and if so how ? Will leaving the jar open allow evaporation sufficient enough to reduce the batch or will it take too long? Any help would be appreciated.
