I also found a vegetable glycerin/double boiler method that looks promising, too. Love the fact that it seems like less potential for explosions - anyone tried something like that?

  The only way a layman is gonna pull this off is by growing their own plants
even cheap chronic is too expensive to turn an oz into a few grams of oil.

you can make ok oil from bud leaves and trim, but not from broad leaves and stems.
