Marijuana is now legal in the states of Washington and Colorado but it’s clear that marijuana in all its forms won’t be contained by borders.

Indeed the new battle in Texas in the war on drugs is not along its southern border with Mexico, but simply keeping it from crossing state lines from places where it’s already legal.

Investigators in Corinth said they recently discovered flavored sodas, Gummy Bears, taffy, hard candy and other edibles, all containing highly-potent marijuana manufactured in Denver and brought to North Texas.

“These items were found on the street and, as you can see, they clearly look like something you would buy at your grocery store,” said Lt. Jimmie Gregg, of the Corinth Police Department.

Each item contained between 25 and 100 milligrams of THC, the chemical component that produces a high when marijuana is ingested.

“They are probably a little more potent than one or two joints you may see a marijuana user using at the time,” said Gregg.

Investigators are already trolling social media sites used by kids to see if there is a buzz or demand for the marijuana edibles locally.

The concern is that with the candies and flavors, it’s kids who’ll be targeted as primary customers with sweet treats that they could eat or drink in front of a parent, teacher or cop and no one would suspect a thing.

“You’re not looking for it,” said Gregg. “We have to be more cognizant of and recognize and take action. Like you say, 'Catch up to the game.'"

Yes it's of vital importance that the authorities find this & destroy it before it does what? Will it cause anything worse than the mildest
side effects of big pharma's medicinal offerings? NO. Will some lil kid become poisoned if he consumes this? NO
Well maybe time & money could simply be saved if law enforcement stops making things up & begins to concentrate their efforts on stopping real criminals
instead of villifying a legitimately lawful enterprise that will cause little to no harm, even if abused.

if it will help I will volunteer to eat it all.. :biggrin

The kids in Colorado don't seem to be having any problems with edibles!!!I guess when these edibles cross state lines they magically
become a dangerous narcotic and  must be destroyed at all  costs!!!! Sounds like some more of that good old fashioned "REEFER MADNESS" to me!!!!!

WHAT THIS IS.

THIS IS THE LAST STRONGHOLD STRATEGY FOR THE DEA AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AS A WHOLE AGAINST LEGAL WEED.

It doesn't look like much on the surface but a few things will happen here.

1. Public criticism of the "lack of security in legal states"
2. This will lead to law makers lobbying to make it illegal again as a last ditch effort
3. The Federal Government will have to step in and they have already setup banking to manage the billions that only two states will produce (BILLIONS)
4. The federal government will move quickly to change their stance on it and get it out of schedule and into regulation similar to alcohol within the next 2 years tops.

There are BILLIONS for the greedy corporate rats and politicians to bleed off in the form of fees, taxes, unnecessary security devices and measures that other similar businesses do not need to use like the alcohol and tobacco industries

Once these government and corporate leeches figure out how to get their slice of the pie, then
 its on like Donkey Kong!
