A 13-year-old Girl Scout and her mom had a target audience in mind when selling cookies this year. They set up shop outside a medical marijuana clinic.

On President’s Day, Danielle Lei and her mother, Carol, put up their cookie table outside The Green Cross marijuana clinic in San Francisco — and raked in the dough.

In two hours, Danielle had sold 117 boxes of cookies.  That’s 37 more than she sold in the same time outside a Safeway the next day.

"It's no secret that cannabis is a powerful appetite stimulant, so we knew this would be a very beneficial endeavor for the girls," Holli Bert, a staff member at The Green Cross, wrote Mashable. "It's all about location, and what better place to sell Girl Scout cookies than outside a medical cannabis collective?"



Besides the obvious business sense, Danielle’s mom said she thought it would be a good lesson in drugs: some people smoke pot for their health, while others smoke to get high.

"You put it in terms that they may understand," Carol Lei said. "I'm not condoning it, I'm not saying go out in the streets and take marijuana.”

But she did admit: “It also adds a little bit of cool factor. I can be a cool parent for a little bit."

She said other Girl Scouts in Danielle’s troop had also sold the goods outside medical marijuana clinics.

"Girls are selling cookies, and they and their parents pick out places where they can make good sales," said Dana Allen, director of marketing and communications for Girl Scouts of Northern California. "The mom decided this was a place she was comfortable with her daughter being at."

"We're not telling people where they can and can't go if it's a legitimate business,” she added.

I use to get stoned and eat an entire box of gsc omg the thin mints are the shit! The dollar store had a knock off brand of them and they were really good

I Bought 16 Boxes of Thin mints Last time. They should be coming threw here soon...

OMG it is a good damn thing that they don't come every week..i would be cookie sick..
