Too bad they don't have film on this one. Sounds like there are issues on both sides of the equation here, but it's my word against yours without the video. Unfortunately, that sort of situation typically favors the LEOs in court. So messed up getting shot over weed, though... :snoop:

Exactly, I dont hate cops on a whole, but when it comes down to their word vs ours in the court of law.. well the officer will come out on top a majority of the time, especially since cops and judges work together to get convictions in the first place. Sure, a few bad apples make them look bad, but even worse is the good cops who stand by and let this kind of shit happen. Something's gotta give eventually.

Which is why I say "There are No Good cops" because every once in awhile a bad cop needs mr. good cop to back up his incorrect, or lying report. As soon as
Mr. Good cop says "Yes, that is what happened" on a bad cop's report another Good Cop falls down.

Anyhow this case is easy to see that the cops are lying sacks of shit. They certainly shot up this guy enough to kill him, but they done fucked the whole thing
up by not killing him. He is obviously innocent of any law violent enough to be shot for committing!

Well, it would seem that he pulled a gun on the cops, so not the best plan for continued survival these days. The issue would be what sort of warning was provided by the cops before gaining entry? If they failed to announce that they're coming in, then this guy had every right to protect himself against potential home invaders. Witnesses seem to suggest that they kicked the door in without warning and with guns blazing. If that's the case, then they should nail the cops for failure to follow appropriate protocol and for causing the violent situation in the first place. Without the video, however, they're likely to nail this guy even more for being a felon in possession of firearms. Sucks, but the deck is stacked against this guy. They're going to need a good technicality and a sympathetic jury to win the day. Luckily, the jury may help folks like this in today's climate.

spicer:
No knock raids are just plain stupid, especially in America where there are millions of armed citizens. But youre right, without video and the fact that he pulled a gun out means this is an easy win in court for the cop

Way I see it, it doesn't matter either way. Even if there is proof the cops did their very simple job incorrectly what punishment do you suppose they will get?
I will tell you, the punishment for dumb-ass cops who can't follow simple instructions is Paid Time Off. That will really help citizens everywhere!

Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people. Some cops are criminals, main dif is when a criminal fucks up they go to jail. When a cop screws up they get paid time off

You know, it's sure gonna be nice when I'm older and I can sit back and tell young whipper snappers about how it used to be that your life could be completely ruined just because you chose to use a drug, a relatively harmless drug (although it does have its drawbacks at times) that didn't cause you to commit violence against anyone, and have your life completely fucking ruined, and how isn't it great that now in most of the country you can enjoy that same substance freely without such fears.

Times are changing. They aren't changing fast enough, but change is happening. I'm in my mid thirties now, but I'm pretty sure that by the time I'm 50 or older we'll have most of this mess involving cannabis sorted out.

I feel for the dude in the article.
