North Dakota’s secretary of state has announced that the North Dakota Compassionate Care Act of 2016 has officially been placed on the November
8th general election ballot after it was confirmed that at least 13,500 valid signatures were submitted by proponents of the measure.

If the initiative is passed into law, the possession and use of up to three ounces of medical cannabis will be legal for those who receive a recommendation from a physician. State-licensed dispensaries would also be legalized, accessible by any patient, and licensed cultivation centers would supply said dispensaries. A provision in the measure allows those living 40 or more miles from a dispensary to grow up to eight plants
