One interesting thing about a rogue agency attempting to write new laws in order to 'crack down' on a substance
is that what the DEA has done is against the law. Interesting thing about the law is that in all the land there exists only one
organization that is allowed to make new laws, and that is Congress. In fact this isn't the first time the DEA has
tried to make up their own new laws and also be punished. Back in 2001 the short-sighted a-holes at the DEA
tried a similar thing and had to be smacked down for it.

I think some folks, seeing legalization at the state level in their localities for MMJ and recreational, are becoming complacent as they feel their needs/desires are fulfilled to their satisfaction. They are looking at trees but not seeing the whole forest.
