Nah, not off topic. Texas is nice enough to visit, but dear God watch your ass. Their laws are ridiculous to say the least.
Remember Chris Haaaaaaaaaaaaaanson and his To Catch a Predator Show? Texas was where that screeched to a halt because of a suicide. Cops tried to catfish the 18 year old, with the undercover cop claiming to be above age, then underage, then 18 again for a bit of flirting, then revealing 16. Kid showed no interest in chatting up a 16 year old. Well, in Texas even chatting with one is a crime at the time, so despite the cop being 34... and despite the guy cutting off contact... the producers wanted some footage so they showed up at his home.
Let me reiterate that... no laws broken, a non-predator, and a 34 year old pretending to be a 16 year old who presented herself as an 18 year old. Texas law said book him.
So the cops showed up, and he shot himself because of it. Chat logs revealed just how bad the cops in question handled it. Let's just say that what's kosher in Texas for cops is 10000% misconduct anywhere else.
So yeah, I wouldn't fuck around in Texas.
