I really think adding a 10% federal excise tax on top of what the State adds will only serve to drive marijuana clients to the black market-- at least I hope so cause I hate to see any gov't make a dime off my weed

I don't trust the government to be my dealer. Drives costs up and always a string attached. And we're supposed to be grateful? Lol.

It is how the Dems will stay in power for the midterm elections because 60% of younger voters approve of legalization.

These are the generation Z'rs who tend to be more sensitive and helpful to each other and feel detached from Enev X'rs.

Meanwhile the GOP(Grey Old Politicians) still are calling it a gateway drug that needs more testing as they block and disapprove

of all testing methods.

Congress is afraid of the DEA.  if you ask either entity who has the decision making power on drug laws, neither will give you a clear answer

Even though it literally takes an act of congress to make to change a law.

If you read Schumer's bill, it clearly says it wants to decriminalize marijuana nationwide, not legalize it.

The next day after this bill was released, Biden says he will not sign this "legalization bill" because he only approves of decriminalization nationwide, not full legalization.

It's like the two are on the same page but totally different planets at the same time.

I won't discuss politics here and we don't have a category for it on purpose but it is good to cut through the bulshit on the news and get the real stories here for stuff
that affects our little family.

After reading the 'Why are cannabis stocks down?' article in the shoutbox, I notice the federal excise tax on cannabis is actually planned to be 25% after 5 years.

Obviously few of our lawmakers actually perceive cannabis to be anything but a vehicle to rake in more of the pretty money they can't stop wasting. Nobody is even talking about the $3.6 Billion spent every year fighting the war on marijuana, why can't these scumbag lawmakers be happy wasting all that money?
