Granddaddy Purple - Indica
Strain Overview
Granddaddy Purple, or GDP, is a very famous strain in the cannabis world. It is created by crossing Purple Urkle and Big Bud. It often gives patients a dreamy buzz combined with deep physical relaxation making it good for pain, stress, insomnia, and muscle spasms. The average THC % for this strain is 15-19%, but the THC only tells a small portion of this strain’s story.
Terpene Profile and Effects
Cannabis has a notably strong unique aroma, and each individual strain has a different smell as well. The part of the cannabis plant that causes these different smells are the terpenes, aromatic molecules secreted inside the resin glands of the cannabis flowers. Terpenes not only provide a wide range of smells but can also accentuate the cannabinoid profile resulting in stronger and more focused physical and mental effects than the THC % would lead you to believe.
The primary terpenes found in Granddaddy Purple include myrcene, caryophyllene, and pinene.
Myrcene is the most abundant terpene in cannabis. The aroma is often described as earthy with musky notes, resembling cloves, and sometimes even has a fruity, red grape-like smell. It has also been reported that it is useful in reducing inflammation and chronic pain.
Caryophyllene, also found in black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, and other spices like oregano, is best known for its spicy and peppery notes. Beta-caryophyllene binds to CB2 receptors, hence its use in anti-inflammatory topicals and creams. Caryophyllene is the only terpene that binds to cannabinoid receptors.
Pinene terpenes, smelling strongly of pine trees where it can be found in large quantities, have an anti-inflammatory effect on humans. They can help improve airflow and respiratory functions, while also reducing the memory loss related to the use of THC. A strain rich in pinene can help with asthma, arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and cancer.

I have a pheno of Animal Face Which is Face Off OG x Animal Mints.
I choose this phenotype because it does the following:
1.reduces pain in minutes
2.reduces inflammation in measurable amounts
3. gives off extreme euphoria
4. Lasting pain relief up to several hours after the high is gone.
This strain has CBG in it and that is known to have all the properties listed above on its own except for euphoria.
I will have some for sale later this year!
