salts
« on: October 09, 2016, 10:02:25 AM »
Salts - I read a book, where it said as we all know, salt builds up in the soil, hurting the roots, are they talking about salts from all nutrients or just table salt?  thanks

Do you have good drainage? Do you have good PH? Do you water daily or only when the soil is almost dry then soak it? Do you feed every time you water? what Nutes do you use? what soil mix do you use?

what kind of pots? how big are your pots? how many plants per pot?

Help us so we can help you. you gave us ZERO information and want to know.

Did you read some of the books and links I gave you in other posts like this? You have yo put in the time to get the knowledge. Its the only way. you are a programmer. You understand process and logic.

Ask SS what its like to learn and then apply what you learned and see immediate results in this field. Dude learned more in less than a year then I learned in a decade by putting in the time and reading a lot.

People that have salt build up have poor drainage among many other reasons but this being the most common. Its not a worry if you are doing everything  correctly consistently.

Aquaponic system, because we flush so often (relatively) we do not have to worry about it, thanks

Yeah that salt buildup can be a real prob if u don't have adequate drainage.. You will see that white crusty buildup on the top of the soil..  Water and make sure  plants can drain properly bro..
