The 4th Annual High Times Cannabis Cup 2013 San Francisco
June 22/23 2013

What:
The fourth-annual HIGH TIMES San Francisco Bay Area Medical Cannabis Cup is coming! The two-day cannabis expo will feature cultivation seminars and activism sessions with HIGH TIMES editors, leaders of the marijuana movement, and major cannabis celebrities.

When:
June 22-23, 2013

The Craneway Pavilion, 1414 Harbour Way South, Richmond, CA 94804

Who:

This event (expo and Saturday night party) is for all adults ages 18+
You do not need a medical card to attend but you will need one if you wish to consume cannabis on-site.
In accordance with California law, which does not recognize out-of-state medical marijuana cards or certifications, only California residents with a California doctor’s recommendation or California medical marijuana card will be allowed to enter the Prop 215 area.

A New Frontier of Women in the Cannabis Reform Movement featuring the NORML Women’s Alliance

Kyndra Miller, Esq. graduated from Lincoln School of Law in 2002. Upon completing her work as a volunteer attorney with Americorps, she opened an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles. Currently, she is president and CEO of CannaBusiness Law, Inc. a wireless professional law corporation that provides business law services to medical marijuana patients in California. She is a member of the board of directors of the NORML and a founding member of the NORML Women’s Alliance.

Anne Marie Tomassini is a criminal defense attorney, practicing state and federal law. Her practice is located at Pier 5 Law Offices in San Francisco. She practices all areas of criminal defense, but her main passion is rehabilitation and troubled youth, working to stop the revolving door of the criminal justice system.

Jessica McElfresh is an attorney in San Diego, who focuses on marijuana law, criminal defense, and immigration. She is community director for the San Diego Chapter of the NORML Women’s Alliance. She has helped author several local ballot initiatives to regulate medical cannabis dispensaries in San Diego County.

LaTanya Linzie has been a cannabis activist and advocate for five years. She worked at Oaksterdam University with Richard Lee. She is currently the community leader of the NORML Women’s Alliance in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Zenia Gilg has been practicing law since 1994, and has represented medical marijuana patients throughout the state of California since the passage of Proposition 215. She has represented medical cannabis collectives and cooperatives, and physicians who dare to recommend cannabis as medicine.

3 p.m.

To Dab or Not to Dab: Examining Concentrates

Bobby Black (moderator) is senior editor of HIGH TIMES and has covered veteran’s issues and the world of concentrates extensively. His column, “Almost Infamous,” appears monthly in the magazine.

JJ is the head chemist at Fresh Off The Buds Extractions, He holds a degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara and has developed several groundbreaking chemical workups that allow them to remove unwanted compounds (i.e. plant waxes, lipids, and fats) while still retaining valuable medicinal compounds such as mono and sesquiterpenes.

K is the owner and president of Trichome Technologies. His work has been featured in HIGH TIMES over 50 times. With over 30 years of cannabis research, cultivation, and breeding experience, K has consulted for many top activists, doctors, scientists, authors and researchers in the medical cannabis community.

Experts discuss best practices for success in the garden.


Danny Danko (host) is senior cultivation editor of HIGH TIMES who gives monthly cultivation advice in his “Dear Danko” column. He is the author of The Official HIGH TIMES Field Guide to Marijuana Strains.

Kyle Kushman is an expert marijuana cultivator and five-time HIGH TIMES Medical Cannabis Cup medal winner. A former HIGH TIMES staff member, he has taught classes in advanced horticulture at Oaksterdam University. Kyle is the creator of Veganicsâ„¢, a new line of vegan/organic nutrients.

DJ Short has been a cannabis breeder since the early 70s. He has produced highly unique strains using new and Old World genetics. His Blueberry strain placed first in the indica category at the 2000 Cannabis Cup. He is the author of Cultivating Exceptional Cannabis.

K is the owner and president of Trichome Technologies. His work has been featured in HIGH TIMES over 50 times. With over 30 years of cannabis research, cultivation, and breeding experience, K has consulted for many top activists, doctors, scientists, authors and researchers in the medical cannabis community.

Rick Pfrommer is director of education at Harborside Health Center in Oakland, CA and a founding member of the Cannabis Action Network. He has been an activist, grower and author in the c cannabis community for 25 years.

Aaron of DNA Genetics, along with his partner Don, are multiple Cannabis Cup winners and have been awarded top prize at numerous other international competitions. DNA’s strains are legendary; L.A. Confidential, Martian Mean Green and Chocolope are just a few of their top strains.

The Impact of Social Media in the cannabis community.

Jen Bernstein (moderator) is the managing editor of HIGH TIMES magazine. She also hosts the popular HIGH TIMES podcast The Stash, which covers the pot-friendly music and entertainment scene.

Coral Reefer is the host of Stoney Sunday. She also oversees the @NewsNug twitter feed and video series, rehashing cannabis news. Her naked bong hits are controversial but, obviously, grab the attention of many. She resides in Oakland, CA where she manages her popular blog CoralReefer420.com.

Old Hippie worked in the computer, publishing, and medical industries. A bout with depression eventually led him to rediscover cannabis as a medicine. He’s been dispensing his experienced advice online at reddit.com and writing articles for Weedist.com, Treating Yourself and the 420 Times. His advice column (askoldhippie.com) and blog (Beyondchronic.com) educates thousands about using medical cannabis safely and effectively through microdosing.

Bianca Barnhill was a successful model for 15 years. Her career was cut short when she was diagnosed with cancer. She discovered cannabis as an alternative to prescribed medications. She is a West Coast correspondent for HIGH TIMES and works with Americans for Safe Access.

The Art of Cannabis Edibles featuring leading chefs.

Elise McDonough (moderator) is author of The Official High Times Cannabis Cookbook. A long-time High Times staff member, she has sampled world-class cannabis cuisine, ranging from the space cakes of Amsterdam’s coffeehouses to the award winning “medibles” of California.

Chef Amber is a multiple High Times Medical Cannabis Cup winner for edibles. Unfulfilled making high-end wedding cakes, she switched her profession to medicinal nutrition. Throughout her own medical trials she uses her illness to experiment and understand natural medicine. She can be found, most days, busy in the fragrant kitchen of Greenway in Santa Cruz, CA.

Julianna Carella is founder and CEO of Auntie Dolores Co-op, Inc. Started in San Francisco in 2008, it has grown exponentially. Auntie Dolores Edibles are found in dispensaries throughout California. Rick Cusick (moderator) is the associate publisher of HIGH TIMES magazine and is a member of the board of directors of NORML. He is also the chairman of New Jersey NORML.

Debby Goldsberry is a pioneer of cannabis reform in America.  She is a co-founder of the Cannabis Action Network (CAN) and also co-founded Berkeley Patients Group and the United Cannabis Collective. She was the 2011 HIGH TIMES Freedom Fighter of the Year.

Paul Armentano is the Deputy Director and the NORML Foundation. He is a journalist and marijuana policy expert and has spoken at numerous national conferences and legal seminars, testified before state legislatures and federal agencies, and assisted dozens of criminal defense attorneys in cases pertaining to media programming covers cannabis issues.

William Panzer is an accomplished trial lawyer and an expert in cannabis law both at the state and federal level. He is also co-author of California’s Prop 215. In his practice he has represented patients, growers, and medical cannabis dispensaries throughout California in state and federal court. He is on the board of directors of NORML.

Michael Stepanian has been practicing criminal law for 35 years, specializing in the defense of those charged with state and federal crimes—particularly marijuana-related “offenses.” In San Francisco, he is co-chair of the NORML Legal Committee and a member of the CJA panel for the Northern District of California.

5 p.m.

Outdoor Cultivation in California with veteran growers.

Dan Skye (moderator) is the editorial director of HIGH TIMES magazine and is the most prolific writer in the magazine’s history. He is a top cannabis photographer with 25 HIGH TIMES cover to his credit.

Dru West, author of The Secrets of the West Coast Masters: Uncover the Ultimate Techniques for Growing Medical Marijuana, is a medical cannabis cultivator, caretaker and patient in Bend, OR, where he has lived for the past six years. Before that, he spent nearly a decade designing and managing grow ops across the United States.

Noel Manners is a longtime cannabis advocate. He advised the Growing Standards committee for the implementation of Mendocino County’s groundbreaking 9.31 cannabis grower licensing program and sheriff’s zip-tie program. For the past 15 years he has presided over Camp Cool Farm.

Michael Boutin is the administrator of Grace Farms and one of the hosts of Cannabis Nation Radio. In 2008, he was invited to be a member of the Trinity County (CA) Ad hoc Medical Cannabis Committee, and has worked on medical marijuana issues in the county since. He was featured in Weed Country on the Discovery Channel.

B.E. Smith is a decorated Vietnam veteran. In 1999, he was sentenced to 27 months in jail for cultivating medical cannabis at his home in Trinity County. But, Smith, a devout believer in personal freedom, replanted his garden upon his release and has grown ever since. He was featured in Weed Country on the Discovery Channel.

Ghostfave Killah, GZA and Raekwon are on at 8 pm, some of my friends are excited, but I'll prob cut out when they come on, I'm not into rap at all.

Prob gonna be a shit show filled with hipster gangster wannabee's when they start

Looking forward to it all except that, freakin' Swerve and his Cali Connection "gangsta vibe" UGH
